Turning 5 - Time flies

I turned 5 this 24th .Time flies - say my parents for me its too slow .Want to become big fast or atleast my dad says i am a bit ahead of my age ....ahem ! (assuming thats a compliment and not that i am already too big for my boots ) .I prompted mum n dad to throw me a party this time ...when hintes didnt suffice i got into plainspeak " i want a party " kinda of tantrum but little subtle than it sounds .Some acheivements at 5

Party was at the mall .good fun .All from school showed up .Got lot of presents . Didnt open them for a week ,me thinks mum was more keen to see the stuff than me .Well anyways i am not too much about toys .

1.I know my stuff .....what i want

2.I have honed my language skills

3.Amongst the teachers pets at the big school

4.Continue to be a nature lover ...crave for open and green like a "vampire craves for blood " says mom

5.I can stay away from my parents .Have been to a sleepover and grandparents two weeknds in a row .Dad and mum thought i would yearn to be back ...nope had to be dragged back

6.I am good storyteller ( including spinning yarns )

7.I love my new school and new friends .picture next time

Btw had a great farm trip to Mangao ...lot of animals .and as usual bought back a pet ...white mouse /guinea pig /hamster .....we tried to google it and figure out what it was ...it turned out to be a mouse ..i also have a temp pet at dadajis place ..a cat .Favourite animal ? Crocodile and snakes .Creepy i know , but am really fascinated by them Have asked Dadaji to get them for me .

My first school project : Interview dad on Video

Its back to school ...a much bigger and more exciting ones.New friends , fancy dress , injury and much more to begin with .Watch the video of my first school project - Me interviewing dad on camera .I know i look the more confident of the two .Thats just DNA improvement down the generation .Let me know your comments .The video received special mention and my teacher could not keep her thrill which she finally conveyed to mom .BTW the credit for the edit goes to mom on her i mac .I am told its some kind of magic machine -  i have been watching cartoons ,listening to songs and typing away on it .Subhaan Interviewing Dad

Me at The Movies !

You all might think that today's generation of 4 year old love to watch movies .You go it wrong .Last 30 days i have been to 5 and don't intend going for more .Not that they were bad ones ( in fact mum n dad took me to movies which they would never watch themselves ....or maybe ) .
It started with Kung Fu Panda 2 .How i hate having to watch 3 d .One of my favourite characters but i was yet happier leaving the hall .Then came Transformers 3 - 3d ( here we go again ) .This i think was more for my dads viewing than mine , i was even bribed with a couple of transformers toys to get my buy in ( which i love by the way ) .This one just wouldn't end .I had to shed a few tears to get out of this however barely manged to stay till the end .Next came Chillar Party advertised by salman Khan ( my role model - my folks tell me that that i have tantrums like him ) but the bugger doesn't show up .Or at least i thought he was in the film .I slept of somewhere in between .Harry Potter 7 - Though it was the 7th edition it was my first one .I somehow did ok with this one just because of magic .But i knew i was not yet ready for 2 hrs plus 3 d stuff .Finally just this weekend i saw Zindagi na milege Dobaara .This one i am sure was for my folks .Mandar Mama also joined in .From the first few minutes i knew this was not my stuff .At the end of the 2 and half hours when the credits started rolling in i heaved a sigh and said"Thank God".I think this time i was not the only one who was hoping for a end to the ordeal .
Moral of the story : no more movies for me . Am happy playing , going to the farm ,drawing and tv in the comfort of my bed at home .It is decided the next movie i go to will be when i decide to do so .I have just given a yes to Smurfs releasing next week and nothing after that .BTW i have been asking to be shown Delhi Belly ( i like boy films and it s posters right outside my house - I live next to the best multiplex in the city ) for some strange reason i am not being taken to this while i have been subjected to a few torturous ones . I wonder why .Dad says i can watch it when i grow up .....
So this is the last week before my new ,big school starts .As a practise i am already off TV and busy shopping .Looks like a big deal to me .

My Pets Gallery

My love for animal continues inspite of intervention by the new age childeren indulgences like doremon / pokemon ,cars and transformers .They continue to be my favourite playthings .I have manged to have a parrot for some time now .Over the last two months i did pick up two squirrels ( gifted by mama ) , but the poor little things did not survive a road trip from vash to andheri .Dadaji is ensuring my interest in all things natural remains alive at all times.He has kept safe lot of them in their natural habita at mangao .A photo feature on the same .

I am on a roll .Growing in height and masti .Lats 6 months have been hectic with new learnings and action .Listing a few of my favourites

1.The Language fun - I have now learnt to convesre well and my chats are now mixed with some eloquent words and some of my own making .English is a funn language and when i use certain words in a slightly different context they get amused .wonder why ? Sample words Hitted , gaved ,downer , outer ( when i get someone out in cricket ) and some other gems .Daddy is at me to correct some of these ( for some reasons he says he only understands english when i know he is just saying it so that i talk to him in english ) .Am also making a effrt at learning kutch (my "mother " toungue ).

2.The Sports Fun

Cricket and football . What else ! I have learnt to bat a bit and am lefty and i kick good with my left leg .In my game i cant get out and lose or else its game over with tantrums .Also went on the road when India won the world cup to see crazy people on the streets and couldnt figure out what the fuss was and it upset me more when i didnt get the icecream , the pretext on which i was on the ride .Slept within minutes obvilious to what going around .

3.The Activity Fun

Cooking , inventions and shiamak davars .I seem to enjoy the dance classes .cooking is a fuss the teacher does everything and gives us the credit and i get neatly cooked dishes home ( not neceassrily tasty ) .Mum and dad eat those out of emotions .Also attended a Choota bheem birthday party . Was dissapointed with the costume character . I thought that there would be a real one .

4.The Masti Fun

Well this is the real, real fun with disasterous results .The latest one ....me gulping down a couple of coins ...managed to puke one out but created a suspense ,if one made it to the stomach .I was rushed to the hospital to get it checked .luckily it turned out to be a false alarm .I have put upa photo of my first x ray experience .It actually turned out to be fun .

Going forward i am excited about my new school and friends .At this stage friendships are a a bit complicated you have building friends , school friends ,class friends but they seem to keep changing every 6 months or even less .So i have new best friends everynow and then .One constant friendship is with my fellow super hero Areeb .We meet less but enjoy a lot .

"Nature Lover " thats what my dadaji calls me and that i am .Love animals and plants and say that i want to be a hunter when i grow up (assumption : hunters are the people who get to be with animals on animal planet ,the only real channel i watch other than the animation one ).My luck with real animals seem to be not that great .I have tried to pet a few with disastrous results .

1.Foggy the Frog - btw : i name my own pets

Picked up from the local garden ( captured by dad ) .It but surived 3 days even though i got worms to feed him .Disappeared in the house for 24 hours and found him in the bathroom .Put him back in the box and next day found him all fours up .

2.Fufu the snail

Picked up from outside my dr.clinic .The slimy guy crept out overnight and out of the window .Not to be found .We i guess he is atleast alive and kicking

3.Chickiyoo the little chick

Piked up from dadji farm .The poor thing all but lasted 3 days before its noisy chuckles turned silent

4.Crabee the Crab - yep i got a live one .The creepo walks sideways which was amusing .I tied him to a rope and took him to show off to my friends in the building (btw the frog made it to the school too where everyone was scared except me ) .Carbee escaped and was allover the kitchen till dad covered him in a box ,the guy did not make it till the morning .Vishaka had bought it for me

5.Turtlee the turtle

Dadaji got thsi one for me .It was on ugly fella .I did not bring him back home and now he is leading a good life in mangaon

What next .....coming up a parrot and a monkey ( monkey is already there waiting for me in mangaon )

I also caught a fish in kerala ...really ! but i let it back into the lake .

The Frog and the Prince

Mum and Dad were called by teachers to give feedback on my progress .As it turns out I am shaping out well ( ahem !) .I am ahead on all counts and have a inclination for geometry, algebra and math which are my excel areas ( whats geometry and algebra ????).I can count to thousands but not write numbers .I am declared a "intellectual kid ".The other side is that i amke stories out of anything and my stories dont stroke reality at all and are a fantasy world ( which my teachers think is not a good idea and my dad thinks the opposite ) .In my stories i become the astronaut and get the moon home - taechers tell me its not possible ,my stories animals talk ,elephants are smaller than frogs and talk ,cars and animals live in harmony etc .I have been advised not to be read fairy tales till age 6 ( i wonder what age group disney is making movies for ).I am suppose to make stories which are reality based and not a fantasy .....what a pity i would have loved to get horses to fly and mouse bash up lions ....this will have to wait .

In the same week i did have a exciting animal adventure .I went to the garden and caught a live frog which is now my pet . I was so excited that i went around showing to all the childeren in the building ( i love being the center of attention ....actually i dont prefer it any other way ) .I also took it to school and the teachers asked me to show it to all smaller classes kids as well .I was more than happy to oblige .We did have a incident with the frog on night 1 .the pesky little creature had a very strong determination and managed to escape from the box i kept him in ( it seemed impossible that he would have been able to do that ) .We captured it th enext day after a 5 hours search in the hosue ....hiding in the bathroom .

Lesson learnt :
Dont underestimate and if you dare it you can do it ( thanks "Foggy " ....thas what i have named him .)I intend releasing him back after a few days .

and yes about the Prince .....no marks thats for me as is eem to be having all wishes and wants fulfilled by a set of pampering family .A tortoise , a chick and monkey coming in .

Weekend Action

I will now try to update the blog weekly . Lot of action in life as I am growing up.
I know I have friends to whose place I go over to play or they come over sans mom and dads.
This weekend had a swap playover with karthikean , my new bud . We played at his house then my house and then together went to play elsewhere .
Sunday was packed .early morning trip to check out my potato plantation in the building garden. On reaching there was informed that there is a snake on the prowl . Mission aborted. Its another thing I came and told that I saw the snake and even described it ( I am quite a story teller )
Afternoon : Candies at Pali with Areeb via park at carter road . Candies was good . Areeb and me went right upto the top on level 6 and made it our own private hangout. Everyone eslae followed .

Evening : shopping at Landmark . A toy and a activity book . Spent a good one hour jaunting .

A Tribute To Nanaji

This post is a tribute to my Nanaji .I am too little to understand the ways of this world but not so little to understand to know that someone is gone forever .One Sunday i woke up to mummy not by my side when i woke up ( this is usually never the case ) .I did tell Dadi that i saw Nanaji in my dream ( i have this habit of telling my dreams to mum and dad ) .

Dad came to be and explained to me that Nanaji has gone for ever and has become a star and mummy is sad for next few days and i should not trouble her .I went on with my daily chores of play and fun .Deep probably knowing that something is amiss .Mummy called me , crying on the phone and i told her innocently "Dont be sad mamma , Nanaji has become a star and we will see him in the sky in the evening ".

The day she did come back i showed her a ball saying that i like the ball because Nanaji had given it to me .

Nanaji would come to take care of me ,when he was well ,when Mummy would have to go to work and no one was there to take care of me .He would bring me among other things small packets of dal always .

This is the last photo of him from my third birthday.

MUM and Dad : As years will go by Subhaan memeories of his nanaji will probably phase .This post will serve as a reminder to him of a person who loved him a lot and would play with him .In his last days that he spent at our house Subhaan always would spend sometime with Nanaji and enquire about his health .Surely nanaji must have had some joyful tugs at the heart amidst his pain .

Between one season to the other i have caught that non evasive virus .One week no school during fever and one more after that .School now seems like a boring unavoidable errand .Last 3 months i have added inches ( well this is perhaps boring piece of news cos i am expected to grow ober the next few years ) .However i have become quite a wise crack with interesting anecdotes .

Am i small or stuff around me are big ..........A little man in a BIG world

I have developed two obsessions

Monkeys .My favouries animal .....i have everything to do with these creatures atleast 10 toys ,cds ,dvds and even on youtube iwatch monkey videos .Yep i have learnt partial internet navigation ......running th emouse over and clicking .....for me computer is youtube ....

Ditto for mangoes

I am quite a nature lover and my dadaji is very proud of it .Give me a space of green and open and animals and birds and i am very happy .

Not seein much of the outdoors due to rains and am pretty irritated at that.

I love watching ads on tv ....my favourie is the ramesh and suresh ad of 5 star and i enact it with my man friday Rajesh .
